What object in your house makes you happiest?

My old drafting table. I don’t use it much now, but I’d never get rid of it.

How do you take your coffee (and do you actually drink it)?

However it’s served.

Favorite road trip stop?

Buc-ee’s, but only for the jerky aisle.

What kind of project lights you up?

A modest renovation done really well.

A material you secretly love using?

Galvanized steel.

Dream collaboration?

The National Park Service.

A recent hobby or obsession?

Sketching by hand again.

What space have you never forgotten?

The Alico Building in downtown Waco. I remember standing across the street from it when I was a kid trying to see the top. It felt so tall. I didn’t know what an office building was, or why it mattered, but I understood that someone had made it on purpose. The proportions, the weight of it, the sign glowing at night—it just stayed with me.
